Mt Pleasant First United Methodist Church endeavors to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who enter the church, who watch via TV or listen via podcast and to the community around us. We believe that when Christ's life, death, resurrection, and intercession are uplifted, it will change lives and make disciples for the transformation of the world.

We realize that tastes vary so we have a traditional service at 9:00am and a contemporary service at 11:00am with Sunday School between. We also offer several musical groups and invite participation. There is plenty of opportunity for social interaction in small groups, United Methodist Women, Men's Saturday Bible Study just to name a few. Children are important so we accommodate your needs with nursery care and with a full age based Sunday School curriculum. We hope you will join us.

What to Expect

What are services like?
The 9:00am Great Heritage service is traditional, with robed clergy, use of hymnals, and Chancel Choir singing. The Bridge contemporary service at 11:00am leads worship with a praise band and uses a screen for singing, The clergy are in informal dress. The congregation is seated around round tables and light snacks are provided. In each service the word of God is proclaimed and in addition there is congregational singing, prayer, and scripture reading, and a special time for children. The sermons for each service are identical. Regardless of which service you attend, you will find us friendly and caring. Please join us.

What is the community like?
Mt Pleasant First United Methodist Church is a multi-generational, inclusive congregation. We offer Sunday School for all ages, Kids Club after school program for K-4th grade, Boy Scouts, a very active youth group, United Methodist Women with three circles, and a men's group. We also offer Bible study during the week for those who want to dig into the scriptures. In addition there are two bell choirs, a chancel choir, liturgical dancers for those with interests in those arts. We want to engage the community around us in various ways. In addition we support missionaries in Africa. Regardless of your area of interest, we have something for you here at First Church.
