About Us

Traditional Service, Welcoming Congregation

Mt. Olive Lutheran Church's mission is to grow in faith and love by spreading the Word of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Are you looking for a church home? Our heartfelt desire is to embrace all people in the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (John 13:34-35)

The Mt. Olive congregation is made up of people who live throughout the greater Columbia area and the Midlands. Folks travel from as far as Lexington, Newberry, Elgin, and Orangeburg to worship each week!

Visit us for worship this Saturday or Sunday and experience a service that focuses on worshiping the Triune God with the traditional liturgy of the Church, inspirational hymns, and Holy Communion.

Services focus on worshiping the Triune God through traditional liturgy of the Church, inspirational hymns, and Holy Communion. Visitors are always welcome!

What is the community like?
Mt. Olive's congregation is made up of people who live throughout the greater Columbia area and the Midlands. Members travel up to an hour, one-way, to worship! Our active congregation has grown to around 200+ people worshiping at Mt. Olive weekly. We are a caring, welcoming church!

What if I'm not a Christian?
Visitors are always welcome! It does not matter whether or not you have a Lutheran background, and whether or not you have a Christian background. Jesus calls us to spread the Gospel of Jesus to everyone! (Matthew 28:19-20) Several times each year, Pastor Sizemore teaches 6-week New Members classes during the Sunday School Hour (9:15 am) to prospective members. In this class, you will review the basic tenets of the Christian faith as well as Lutheranism. The next New Members Class begins April 26, 2015.
