Nellie MCDIFFETTThis is the first church I ever went to with my family . I have a history of this church from its founding written on a typewriter by my father, Herbert Roland McElwee. I was born in 1930 and we lived on the farm in this community as share croppers during the Great Depression. We eventually moved to Somerville, TN. I was very young but remember the wool carpet and the old pump organ in the original church. If you would like this history I can mail you a copy. Many families are mentioned: The Rodgers, the Wiles, many more. I went to school in a one-room schoolhouse and Miss Birdie Mae Sanders was my teacher. I live in Derby, KS now after marrying a career A.F. man and moving around a lot including four years in France. Please let me know if you are interested.
