Our Services

Service Times

Sunday
10:00am
Sunday worship is at 10am every week at 15804 SE Mill Plain Blvd in east Vancouver, WA. The service runs about an hour. It’s also live streamed, so you can watch from home on our website, YouTube or Vimeo if you’d rather start there.

What to Expect

What are services like?
The service is about an hour long, with a blend of band, choral, and piano music, scripture readings, prayer and a sermon. There’s a time of reflection with both congregational and silent prayer. Coffee and something to eat follow the service, and you’re welcome to stay as long as you like.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You’ll be greeted at the door and shown where to go, then you can sit wherever you like. We won’t ask you to stand up, introduce yourself, or identify yourself as a visitor. If you’d rather slip in and out quietly your first time, that’s completely fine. Not a Christian? That's fine too. You are welcome as you are.

Leadership

Laura Beville
Senior Pastor

Rev. Laura Beville has been serving as pastor of Mill Plain United Methodist Church since July 2026 and is grateful to be part of this welcoming community of faith. A cradle United Methodist, Pastor Laura grew up in Vista, California, where the love of her church family first nurtured her faith and inspired her call to ministry. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Studies from California State University, Northridge and a Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology. Before arriving at Mill Plain, Pastor Laura served a variety of congregations throughout the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. Along the way, she discovered that her greatest joy is helping people grow in faith, build authentic community, and discover the ways God is already at work in the world around them. One of the things Pastor Laura loves most about Mill Plain is the congregation's commitment to living out God's inclusive love. "As I've been getting to know you, I've been especially struck by the clarity—and boldness—of your vision. You don't just say, 'All are welcome' as a polite greeting. You mean it. You name it. You live it. Your commitment to welcoming people of all ages, races, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, abilities, and immigration status is the gospel lived out in real time. That's the kind of church the world is longing for, and I'm honored to be part of it." Outside the church, Pastor Laura enjoys tending her garden, curling up with a good mystery novel (currently anything by Frieda McFadden), sewing, knitting, and taking in a great musical. She shares life with her spouse, Marshall, their children, Eliana and Caleb, their dog, Luna, and their cat, Sabine. She looks forward to getting to know you and walking alongside you as together we seek to love God, love our neighbors, and make a difference in our community. Pastor Laura also writes regularly at Parson's Pretties (www.parsonspretties.com), where she reflects on faith, ministry, creativity, and the joy of making things by hand.
