About Us
Mercy Hill is a Bible believing church with the understanding that Jesus Christ is the answer for our community, our families, and our lives. We exist to bring glory to Jesus. Mercy Hill is not part of a denomination, but neither are we independent. We're part of a family of churches working together called Lifelink International, sharing in ministry partnerships all over the world. Mercy Hill is described as both evangelical, in our commitment to the centrality of scripture; and charismatic, in our emphasis on the dynamic of the Holy Spirit.

Leadership
John Leitzel
Pastor
John Leitzel serves as the lead pastor for Mercy Hill as well as being part of the national leadership team for the Lifelink USA churches and being extensively in- volved internationally with our global partnerships. John has a Ph.D. in synthetic bio-organic chemistry from the University of Chicago, and was a tenured associate professor of chemistry at Chicago State University prior to joining the pastoral staff at Living Word Church in 2001. John led the team that planted CrossPoint Church in 2006, and pastored that church until he & Karen, along with their daughters Elizabeth and Sarah, moved to Zambia in 2012, serving there for two years.
