What are services like?
At Longview Christian Church, we understand worship to be our response to God's character and grace. This means that as we remember and reflect on who He is and what He has done, we respond by having a heart bowed down and a will submitted in obedience to God! That's our best response in the presence of our Creator. Psalms 51:16-17 // Romans 12:1-2 Worship, then, is expressed in both a personal way and in larger gatherings. As we gather on Sundays together, we express our worship through prayer, sharing in the Lord's Supper, study of Scripture, giving of our gifts, and through the singing of praises to God through music. Our music style attempts to blend modern worship songs while incorporating a taste of the classic hymns that both bring honor to our God! What is the community like?
Our worship gatherings are very casual. We believe that God wants us to come to him as we are. Many folks think they have to dress up to come to church, and while that is nice, by no means will anyone even notice if you're not. Our service is also very casual. Â Usually, a normal service will start with with a few worship songs, then announcements and church updates, followed by a few more songs, sharing in communion, offering, and a sermon time.
