What is the community like?
Here at Light & Life Church you can expect to be welcomed in by a warm group of people who will accept you just as you are. Our focus is not where you’ve been, but where you are headed. You can be yourself and come just as you are and experience being connected, or reconnected, to God. A person who is exploring the Christian faith is no less important than someone who has been in church for many years, and vice versa. We want to be intentional in reaching out to others with the love of Christ and helping people realize their God-given potential. If you like to dress up, then dress up. If you prefer to go casual and comfortable, like shorts, jeans, sneakers, flip flops, or t-shirts, you can wear those, too. LLCF Downey is about people seeking a real experience with God and learning to know Him better and be engaged in the world. What you wear is not as nearly as important as what’s going on inside of you. You can also expect to hear the word of God in a life applicable style. We will not water down the word, but don’t expect “hellfire and brimstone” either. Our worship style (music) is upbeat and contemporary, with dashes of traditional praise music. Our slogan or rather our motto here at Light & Life is “The People Loving Place”. This statement is much more than a moniker for our Church, but it is something that is lived out here on a daily basis. We hope to see you sometime soon and give us chance to become your Church home. What if I'm not a Christian?
You are still welcomed. If you are looking for a place that feels like home, where you will be welcomed, this is it. If you feel like something is missing from your life, we have it here! We offer classes for new-believers, and also for those wanting to grow closer to the Lord as they continue their walk with Him.
