Living Word Christian Center Church

Pastor Derrick is a man after God's own heart, who is on a mission to win the lost and disciple the believer. He and his co-pastor and wife are blessed with two children. He is a man of integrity and the Word of God, living a life that will witness Jesus Christ. Pastor Derrick, affectionately known to many as " Big D", is considered a gentle giant, who has a warm, inviting spirit with a calming presence that makes everyone feel welcomed, safe and a part of the family. He is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. He received both his undergraduate (BS) and graduate (MSW) in Social Work from the University of Kentucky and has received additional certifications beyond his masters degree to continue in his pursuits of life long learning. Not only is Pastor Derrick a man of God, he is an avid exercise and sports, especially football, enthusiast. A former linebacker and defensive end for the University of Kentucky where he was a three year letterman and two year starter, he currently serves as a Head Football Coach and High School Counselor. In this capacity he translates the tactical strategies gained from the natural and utilizes them as a spiritual leader and role model. In this vein he fulfills his call to witness Christ as a leader through living a healthy disciplined lifestyle while promoting educational, spiritual and natural fitness to grow strong and develop in every area of our lives. He also maintains an outreach thrust to reach the lost and believes in strategies that are fun and full of love, serving the needs of people. As he stands on the scripture in Matthew 6:33, "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you". He desires to be a man of integrity who exemplifies the Word of God.
