I use to love this church and looked forward to attending every service possible until the pastor got it in his head that I was trying to split up “his” not “God’s” church. I tried to defend myself but he would not listen to anything I said in my own defense. I tithed regularly and played my violin at every service I attended, sang specials when requested and even donated a portrait of Jesus that my deceased mother had purchased, just to have a deacon’s wife take it down and put it in the floor of a storage room behind a desk, which damaged the frame, which I had to pay $45 to repair, when my mother had paid $85 for the frame alone not including the price of the portrait, just because she stated “that a church member had asked her to take it down,” who would ask for a portrait of our Lord and Savior be taken down in a church?? The pastor was even ugly enough to tell my husband and I “that the church would be blessed if we never returned.” I guess he expected us to leave quietly and be swept under the rug to be forgotten, but was enraged that I told other church members how cruel and hateful he had treated us. I even worked on 2 committees at the church that I was never asked if I wanted to be on, and was expected to attend the meetings at the very last minute. It was at one of the committee meetings that the pastor lashed out at me verbally, in front of 2 other church members, to humiliate me, I would guess, and the pastor was angered when I told other church members how he had treated me. No one should ever have to worry about a pastor persecuting them, and he still continues to drag my name and my husbands name through the mud, trying to tarnish our testimony, and accuse us of things we never did even though we haven’t attended church there in over a month, and blames us for his decrease in attendance , he just won’t let it go or leave us alone. I have threatened to file slander charges against the pastor, deacons, and The Free Will Baptist Association since I was rudely ignored by the local chapter and spoken to rudely be a member of the nation Association in Tennessee and told they were not going to do anything to assist me or help straighten out this mess. I guess they do not care how badly one of their pastors treats one of their congregation members.
