Leadership
Amanda Hendler-Voss and Sara Wilcox
Land of the Sky UCC is co-pastored by Revs. Amanda Hendler-Voss and Sara Wilcox. The United Church of Christ is sometimes called "the last little house on the left on the road out of Christianity" and both of us came to the UCC by way of other mainline denominations because we were in search of a denomination that affirmed women's leadership, stood up for justice, and welcomed gays and lesbians into the full life and leadership of the church. Amanda is married to Seth and mother to Myles and Simon. She is a graduate of Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Sara is married to Jeff and mother to Anna and Ella. She is a graduate of Chicago Theological Seminary. Sara also serves as the Director of New Church Initiatives for the Center for Progressive Renewal. Both Amanda and Sara are ordained in the UCC. Together, they planted Land of the Sky UCC as a new church start in 2009. It has since grown to over 100 members.Location & Directions
