Hope Chapel

About Us

a gospel community for the flourishing of the city.

Hope Chapel is a community of people who believe the Gospel (literally “good news”) of Jesus Christ- that we are loved and accepted by God through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. In a world which is well acquainted with sadness, fear, loneliness, and hatred, we believe this Gospel brings hope and healing, and opens our eyes to see beauty in places of significant brokenness and suffering.

We are seeking to live out, in our words and actions, the teachings of Jesus by working for the spiritual, social, and cultural wellbeing of the university area of Greensboro, and the surrounding neighborhoods. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey– if you are skeptical or mildly curious about Christianity, or if you are a committed follower of Jesus– Hope Chapel welcomes you.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Casual feel with folk/indie music, and a structured liturgy. Preaching is conversational and Gospel-centered teaching from the Bible. Nursery is provided for children 0-2 years, a pre-school class for ages 2-4 years old, and a children's discipleship program for kids k-5. Services last about an hour and twenty minutes.

What is the community like?
Hope Chapel is often described as a very welcoming community. Our ministries are very simple: worship, service, and community groups. By not pulling people in lots of directions, we are able to have a high percentage of attenders be part of community groups, which meet on Sunday nights for dinner, fellowship, and Bible study. These groups also serve together monthly with one of our partner organizations in the city. Most people find these groups to be the source of their primary friendships and support within the church.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We are a community that embraces those who are exploring Christianity, those who are committed Christians, and those who are trying to recover a sense of a connection to God that they had in the past. This is a place for the skeptic, the curious, the doubtful, the committed, the wounded, and the worshipper.
