What to Expect

What are services like?
Worship and holy fellowship are promoted, There is a praise time with contemporary music and testimonies. We have an offering and Prayer time. Children are encouraged to actively participate and the pastor interacts with them often. Sermons are Scriptural based, and relevant for current issues. Often drama or direct interaction with the people are incorporated into the sermon. Our pastor serves 3 churches so every other Sunday he must come into the service after praise time, from preaching elsewhere. The other 2 Sundays, he must leave right after service, to preach at another church.

What is the community like?
We average 60 people in attendance; several are young families with children.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Please come and learn with us. You will be received well. In a sense we are all seekers. Join us in our hopeful journey of faith.

Leadership

Mike Tarner

Mike is a full elder in the United Methodist Churches. He has pastored for 38 years, 28 of them in United Methodist churches. Pastor Mike has been at Hazleton since July 2010. Hazleton is one of three churches that he is pastor of.
