02:00pm: Occasionally combined with neighbors in place of 6 PM service

What to Expect

What are services like?
10 A.M. and 6 P.M. on Sundays, Centered on preaching God's Word, various types of music from hymns to contemporary Christian music, praise team leads music once or twice a month, public prayers, often total 60 minutes in length but up to 75 with special activities or music, fairly casual but most wear casual business type attire but welcome anyone to come as you are, very welcoming of visitors and newcomers.

What is the community like?
Catechism classes for high school students, youth group has Bible studies and fun activities, Sunday School after morning services, Bible Studies during the week, Prayer Warriors meet weekly, occasional fund raiser activities for our Christian School support, various outreach activities including Prison Church visits, outdoor or combined services with neighboring churches, and community activities with community churches, monthly Food Pantry and monthly community dinners not in our facility, immunization clinics monthly in our facility, and more as God provides ability and opportunity.

Leadership

Tom Van Engen

Pastor Tom and Rose came to Hawarden CRC and Tom was ordained here in January 2008 after other careers, Tom preaches God's Word faithfully and is active in various church and community activities and outreach. He loves to help people grow in faith, love, and understanding of God's Word and Kingdom and welcomes questions or discussion.
