Griffith Memorial Baptist Church

Growing Mature Believers in Christ

Who We Are

Since 1907, Griffith Memorial Baptist Church has been a beacon of light to the community in which it resides. Griffith Memorial is a family and a body of believers who strive to love God, love others, and feel God’s love. The congregation of Griffith Memorial strives to be a witness of God’s amazing grace.

The staff and members of Griffith would like to invite others to take advantage of the many opportunities to serve the Lord and others at GMBC. I pray and believe that all who enter the halls of this fantastic church will find a family of believers at Griffith Memorial to be warm, inviting, friendly, and loving. There is a place for all at Griffith Memorial Baptist Church.

So, please take a look around and, if Griffith Memorial Baptist Church is where the Lord is calling you to serve, please come and join us! We are located in the south Jackson/Byram area at 5275 Terry Road.

What to Expect

What are services like?

According to Martin Luther, “Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through music” The Music Minsitry of Griffith Memorial Baptist Church is built around three foundational concepts: 1. To Praise our God and Savior 2. To proclaim the Word of God through song and the playing of instrumental praise for the building up of the body of Christ and winning the lost to Him 3. Education for instilling the eternal truths in the lives of our people and preparing them to use their musical talents and abilitites to bring honor and glory to our Lord

What is the community like?

Griffith exists for evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and worship as a collective body of Christ as well as individuals through our everyday life and walk with our God. If you are looking for a place where you can love God, love others, and most importantly be loved, Griffith invites you to come and check us out. As a group of believers, we feel it is important to encourage one another as the writer of Hebrews says in Hebrews 3:13 ,"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called 'Today,' so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness." Hebrews 12:28-"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe."

What if I'm not a Christian?

All people are welcome at GMBC where we proclaim the Lordship of our Savior Jesus Christ. We have pastors available to discuss any concerns one might have about accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and experiencing an everlasting relationship with Him.
