Grace North Atlanta

...continually rediscovering how God has loved us in Christ

Sun 5:00pm Interdenominational Newcomers welcome Roswell, GA

About Us

Grace North Atlanta is a new worshiping church community serving Roswell/Alpharetta. We care deeply about people coming to see how much God has loved us in Christ, and being freed up by the gospel of grace, learning to love others. We want to be a church community that in very practical and tangible ways accepts and loves people where they are. Too many have experienced the church not characterized by love but by self-righteous judgmentalism. Unfortunately the heart of the Pharisee is deep within all of us - it is a major obstacle to being the kind of community Christ wanted the church to be when he said, "A new commandment I give you, to love one another."

What to Expect

What are services like?
Contemporary expression of music and prayers - but we draw upon the best of the ancient practices of the church. For instance, the sermon ends pointing all of us to Christ inviting all into deeper communion with Christ thru celebrating the Lord's supper. We are trying to create a community in which broken people can be real and yet still loved and accepted - our worship service is designed with that purpose in mind.

What is the community like?
A new church community worshiping at 5pm on Sunday evenings designed to be a different kind of church - not necessarily better - but a place where folks can learn and grow personally in understanding a theology of grace and then see themselves as sent to love others in a broken world

What if I'm not a Christian?
Love to have folks who are exploring, wrestling or questioning what they believe - everyone will feel welcomed and loved regardless of beliefs

Leadership

John Hardie
Lead Teaching Pastor

John Hardie serves as the lead pastor of Grace North Atlanta focusing our church community on a theology of grace in all of our preaching / teaching. John uses a more "conversational" approach to sermons - looking closely at a bibilical text but bringing out practical application to life. John's unique approach to helping people understand the person of Jesus Christ has been shaped by 20 years ministering in both church and university settings - in Prague (1991), Auburn (1992-96) and Yale (1999-2006), combining graduate studies in theology and ethics at Yale and Princeton with practical experience. John tries to help people who are broken and often have given up on the church, still see how much God has loved them in and thru the person and work of Christ - or what we often call the gospel of grace.
