Friends would travel from Alabama to Franklin to visit. Sometimes there were as many as eighteen of us The highlight of our trip was a visit to Gild Mine Baptist Church. We loved the music and enjoyed singing. E everytime my husband and I went to Franklin, we had to drive to the church. We have good Christian memories of your church

My maternal Great-great grandfather, James David Vinson was once the pastor of this church. I'm not sure when, but he died in 1922 and is buried at Newman's Chapel just off the Georgia Road out of Franklin. This church is where i've visited on the first Sunday in August for Decoration Day at the Keener Cemetery.
Brownlow Keener was my husband's grandfather and many of his relatives are buried in this cemetery.
