A Congregation Caring for All of God's Creation

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is a congregation centered in our salvation through Jesus Christ, a free gift given to all people. Our lives are lived in response to this wonderful free gift.

As a congregation we gather around Worship, Bible Study, and fellowship to care for one another, grow in our faith, and share the gifts that God has given to us.

Our congregation actively supports the Vestal FISH Food Pantry as a way to provide for those in need. We host a monthly meeting of local business owners to help support our neighbors.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Gloria Dei is a Latin phrase that means "Glory to God" and we live that out in our worship. We sing, pray, and meditate on scripture. Each of our worship services has a central focus on God's Word and Holy Communion. You can expect each week to begin worship learning about what is going on in our community followed by a time of Confession and FORGIVENESS. We listen to God's Word proclaimed through Scripture reading and Biblically-based preaching. The invitation to Holy Communion is to ALL people whether you are a member of our congregation or no congregation. After we share in Communion, we are sent with a blessing into the world. Members of the congregation are offered many opportunities to use their gifts in worship from singing in the congregation to singing in the choir, reading scripture to assisting with communion distribution, welcoming people to worship to lighting candles and handing out bulletins. We rely on the gifts of our members as we give the best of who we are to God - and there is truly a place for EVERYONE.

Warm and welcoming. We want to get to know you and find the ways that your story intersects with our story.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Come and experience worship. We won't embarass you. We won't make you do anything that makes you uncomfortable. We won't make you give us all of your contact information. We will welcome you with open arms (but we won't insist on hugging you), we will answer your questions, and we'll invite you to join us again next week. And we will gladly pray for you if you wish.
