About Us

Glide Baptist Church is a rural church in the beautiful town of Glide in Douglas County, Oregon. Our goal is loving God and others. Glide Baptist is just a stones throw from the colliding rivers of Little River and the famous North Umpqua River. The church has been around since 1903 and has a rich heritage of being part of the community. It’s a come-just-as-you-are church that has a very family feel. We love Jesus and His Word, and are not ashamed of that. If you have a chance to stop by, come for a visit.

What to Expect

What are services like?
The point of our service is to love God and love others. We have a time of welcoming and announcement followed up by music that is a mixture of traditional and contemporary. We do spend some time in corporate prayer. We do have a short kids sermon 2x a month. The sermons are interesting, practical, and yet give understanding to the context of the passage. We do take communion on the first Sunday of each month.

What is the community like?
The people are friendly and very caring. We strive to build a comfortable atmosphere, but one that points directly to God. As well, we strive to love our community.

I haven’t visited but love Glide and am Appealing for shelter for a dear friend. Chris is 54 recovering from a significant injury but eager to do light work.
