First United Presbyterian Church (Centralia IL)

First United Presbyterian Church is the only Presbyterian Church in Centralia. Organized in 1856, it is one of the oldest churches in Centralia. However, we have an active youth group, strong women’s organization, a men’s breakfast club, and Stephen Ministry available for those going through difficult times.
All walks of life are represented – physicians, nurses, dentists, attorneys, executives, m
usicians, accountants, educators, bankers, carpenters, veterinarians, mothers, fathers, business men, office workers, real estate brokers, railroaders, students - we have them all.
Intergenerational congregation - infants, preschoolers, students in kindergarten through college, employed men and women, semi-retired, retired, including those eighty and ninety years young.
We pride ourselves as friendly, caring and compassionate - the “people” church. Our close-knit membership leaves our worship services feeling spiritually uplifted in a congenial atmosphere. We have a built-in responsive support team for sharing the happy and the sad times.
