First United Pentecostal Church

My daddy started the Winnie church about 60 years ago. I was just a little girl. His name was Jasper Wiggins & the first church was in what was called Winnie-Stowell. Many peanut brittle sales & donut sales built the church. Our phone # was the same as it still is. We lived across from the hospital, our house had a garage on both sides. There were 7 of us girls. Some of the original saints were the DeWees. Schmuck’s, Owens, Devilliar, Sis Credeur, Clements, Grandma Root & Grandma Estre. There was several more. East Chambers Elementary is where I started to school & my older sisters graduated from East Chamber High school. Winnie holds sweet memories for our family. To God be the Glory!
