What to Expect

What are services like?
You are welcome to worship among us, participate in any of our activities and attend any of our classes. You will not be asked to stand up or to wear a red ribbon, but you may be greeted and welcomed by any number of our church family. A Friendship Pad is passed during the service and we ask that you sign in. You will receive additional information from our church and a note during the week.

What is the community like?
People come to our church from the far corners of Kent County. Some people walk to church and others drive past many other churches to come here because they want to be a part of a unique experience. We believe and work hard at “Embracing All People.” Every person is a child of God and we accept them as they are. We are diverse in theology. John Wesley believed that “In essentials unity, in non-essentials freedom, in all things charity.” That is what we strive for at First Church.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are welcome to worship among us, participate in any of our activities and attend any of our classes.
