About Us

Growing in Faith

We are a mainline congregation in the heart of Tiffin, OH. We have an active Christian Education program that nurtures children from birth to know that they are children of God. The elementary children rotate through different workshops of drama, art, storytelling, and more to both learn and understand the stories of the faith. Youth are challenged to not only learn the stories, but apply them to their lives. Two regular adult Sunday School classes focus on different types of Bible study. Worship is traditional with contemporary elements. While we follow a standard order of traditional worship, dramatic readings, acapella contemporary choir, praise choruses, and reflective prayers will often make their way into our Sunday morning worship. As we grow in our faith, we are challenged to share that faith through mission. A local mission trip to Sandusky allowed us to do work in our own state, helping us to see God in the faces of our neighbors.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Worship services follow a traditional order of worship, but contemporary elements are involved in the service. Words to songs are projected on screens, though hymnals are available for those who like to follow the music. A contemporary acapella choir sings for us once a month, but we also boast a wonderful traditional choir and a handbell choir. Children are acolytes, and youth are often seen working in leadership in the church. Dress is casual, and all are welcome. The pastor preaches in a way that is accessible to new Christians but also challenging for those who have been in the faith for a long time.

What is the community like?
We are evangelists, and we are mystics. We are traditional, and we are contemporary. We are older widows, and we are younger families. We are religious, and we are spiritual. We are biblically reflective, and we are community minded.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are welcome to worship with us. A bulletin (program) will let you know what to expect, and the pastor also explains what we are doing as we progress through a worship service. The video screens also help to guide worship. A greeter will meet you at the door and hand you a program. You may ask that person what to do and they will help you understand the worship service. They may even ask you to sit with them!
