What to Expect

What are services like?
We mix some old and new, we are a welcoming, inclusive community.

What is the community like?
We are friendly and welcoming and love having new people join us. Come as you are, all are welcome here.

What if I'm not a Christian?
That is okay. We are all on our own paths. How can one learn more about Jesus or the Bible if one does not discuss, think, question, and try new things? Everyone's journey is different. Just come with a questioning and open mind. Or enjoy the music and fellowship.

Leadership

Kristen Nelson

Here’s a more concise version while keeping the warmth and key details intact: --- We are thrilled to welcome Reverend Nelson to our congregation! With extensive experience in ministry, she holds a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and a theological degree from Luther Seminary in St. Paul. She completed her clinical residency at Mayo Rochester and Fairview Southdale, later joining the Grace E. Harris Women’s Leadership Program at VCU. Reverend Nelson has served congregations in Northern California, Virginia, and Minnesota, as well as roles in hospital and hospice chaplaincy, domestic violence support, and addiction recovery. Her commitment to the UCC runs in the family—her husband, also a UCC minister, recently accepted an interim role in California. Together, they have a blended family of six grown children, with their youngest now starting college in California. With her deep spiritual insight and compassionate leadership, we are blessed to have Reverend Nelson guide us on our journey of faith.
