First Christian Church has been serving the Joplin community since 1874. Our main building was built in 1901 and has some of the area's most beautiful stained glass windows. We also have a Family Life Center multipurpose building to serve the community. We have people of every age and many differing backgrounds. We are welcoming to all people and we seek to serve all of God's amazing creation.
We are located in historic Murphysburg at the corner of 4th Street and Pearl.

What to Expect

What is the community like?
The church community is a very welcoming and friendly. It is a mix of of ages from newborn to 90+. We have several young couples and young families, as well as couples who have been together for decades, and there are singles as well. As you see, we have everyone! We regularly share meals together and look for reasons to celebrate the joys of life. We are also very caring during the difficult times, as we all have them.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You're welcome, too! Jesus didn't turn anyone away, and neither will we.
