Pastor
I am so grateful to God for the blessing of serving as Pastor of FBC Pollock. My hometown is Forest Hill, and my wife, Trish, is from Alexandria. After pastoring two churches in Texas and graduating from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, God has granted Trish and I the desire of our hearts to return home to Central Louisiana and serve in a local church. The ones who are the most excited about our return home are our four children: David, Grace, Noah, and Stephanie.
I am a country boy at heart who likes to hunt, fish, and shoot guns. My favorite place on earth is the Louisiana backwoods. I love to read theology and Church History. My favorite missionary is Hudson Taylor, who gave his life to bring the gospel to the people of China. My commitment in life is to serve Christ by serving my wife, my children, and my local church.
I strongly believe that God has called our local churches to be the light of the gospel in this world. My desire as a pastor/shepherd is to lead, feed, and protect the flock of God (1 Peter 5:2-3). I love this church, and I love her Savior. I want to honor Christ by teaching and preaching expositional sermons from the whole counsel of God. I usually preach verse-by-verse through entire books of Scripture, and if God allows I intend to preach through every verse of the Bible in my lifetime. My prayer is that my sermons will be clear, truthful, relevant, and encouraging to God’s people. I have a strong doctrinal emphasis in my teaching ministry and I like to include insights from great men and women throughout Church History. My personal beliefs are well-represented by The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and The Second London Baptist Confession of 1689.
I pray that if you have not found a church to call home, that you might find your home here with God’s people at FBC Pollock. Come and visit us at 10:45am on Sunday morning, and you will find a vibrant group of believers who love Christ and one another.
