About Us

The good news of Jesus Christ is central to the relationships we desire to form as a congregation of Jesus followers, or disciples. In faith, hope and love rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit we seek to develop and equip mature Jesus followers for life and ministry in God's kingdom. We are a 'people of the Book' believing that the Living Word is essential for our growth in Christ as we seek to live and share The Way, The Truth and The Life of Jesus.
Situated at the heart of Meriden we hold Meriden and the surrounding area in our heart and our hope is that as the body of Christ grows and gathers at 460 Broad and beyond we will reflect the beautiful diversity of the community we've been called to serve.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our primary approach to our Sunday worship celebration is Blended Worship, a casual setting embracing a variety of worship elements; praise and worship, contemporary, traditional hymns, guitars & drums, organ, piano and keyboard all may contribute to the music on any given Sunday; The preaching is Bible-based and conversational with the teaching emphasis; though child care is provided, children are welcome in worship and a Children's message is a regular part of our worship gathering also. Our Wednesday evening worship is very casual with praise and worship, Bible study/discussion, prayer and conversation.

What is the community like?
We are multigenerational and made up of long-time church folk, new believers and seekers.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are welcome; seekers, the curious, or folks that just happen into a church gathering for some reason are welcome. You will not be "beat over the head," judged or cornered...but rather welcomed in the love of Jesus by folks who would love to become your friend... we hope to live out a "vibe" where people can feela sense of belonging even before believing.

Leon Hebrink

Leon Hebrink

Pastor Leon came to pastoral ministry after some years as a teacher and coach and brings a coaching and teaching vibe to pastoral ministry. Leon has served in many diverse and multicultural settings and enjoys that facet of life in and around Meriden. While he may not be your "typical pastor" he is passionate about following Jesus with people he loves as friends, he loves God's Word and is devoted to helping people in need and advocating for peace and justice in accord with the teaching and life of Jesus, the "red letters."
