What to Expect

What are services like?
When you are visiting any church for the first time, the unknown factors can make you a little nervous. We do not want unanswered questions to cause you needless anxiety so we have attempted to provide answers to some common questions such as: Where do I go? What time do I show up? What’s here for my kids? What do I wear? What can I expect? We want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Faith & Family Baptist Church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience the presence of God. We want you feel the love of God and hear the Word of God! You may find the following information to be helpful as you plan for your visit. Where Do I Go? When you arrive on the property there will be someone to greet you at the main entrance of the church building to assist you with any directions you may need. Sunday School starts at 10 am. And we have graded classes for children preschool through the 12th grade. The largest adult Sunday School class meets in the fellowship hall. The morning worship service begins at 11 am with the teens and adults congregating in the main auditorium. Children are invited to remain with their parents in the main service. We also have a nursery available for infants through 3 years of age. What Should I Wear? There is not a strict dress code at FFBC for our members or guests. In case you are wondering, our ministry leaders and many of our church members dress in a more traditional “Sunday-Best” style of dress. Typically the men wear a nice dress shirt with or without a neck tie and a pair of nice dress slacks. The women wear modest apparel appropriate for worship in God’s house. However, our main goal is that you feel welcome and comfortable for your visit to FFBC. What Can I Expect? Singing Every service gives you an opportunity to join us in singing hymns and spiritual songs as a congregation. Each pew provides song books for you to use, which are available in the song book racks located behind every pew. Prayer We are a church that believes in prayer. Throughout the service, prayers are led by different men who are members of the church. Some of these prayers deal with the needs and requests of our church family and friends, while others simply praise and thank God for His goodness and faithfulness. Preaching We consider the preaching and teaching of the Word of God to be the most important time of the service. We believe that the best help you can get comes from the instruction you receive from the Word of God. Invitation At the end of the preaching, Pastor Jay will ask everyone to stand and will give an invitation. This is a time for many to respond and make a life-changing decision by walking down the aisle and praying at the altar. A decision may be to trust Jesus Christ as personal Saviour or to become a better Christian. Whatever your decision may be, the altar is open to you to come forward with others that will make decisions. If you would like someone to pray for you or would like to make your decision public, men and women from our counseling team will be available to pray with you and help you at the altar. Baptism After the invitation is complete, we have a baptism time at the end of every Sunday service. Those who have trusted Jesus Christ are baptized by immersion, making it as easy as possible to be baptized immediately after you get saved. However, we do not believe you can be saved by baptism. Offering At the close of each service we have a time where our members have an opportunity to give an offering to the Lord. While you are welcome to participate in the offering if you desire, we want you to know that we do not expect your participation. We are not inviting you to Faith & Family Baptist Church for your money. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in our church a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a home where you can grow in God’s grace. Please do not feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest. We Invite You To Come Visit Us!!! If you cannot come on Sunday morning then we invite you to visit us on Thursday evening at 6:30.
