About Us

Emmanuel's Church dates back to 1723, when early settlers started their settlement by building a log church, naming it Emmanuel, which means "God With Us."
Today, Emmanuel's Church is a thriving community of people committed to making a difference by reaching out to neighbors nearby and around the world. Emmanuel's historical and modern buildings serve as a place where God's people can grow in faith and love as they offer worship and praise.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Traditional services are easy to follow with projected words as well as complete printed programs. Those who appreciate organ music and traditional hymns will enjoy our spirited traditional worship. Following the words of Jesus, we celebrate the opportunity to receive his gracious love in communion each time we meet to worship. We welcome anyone who believes in Jesus to join us at God's table! Our contemporary worship is very casual and friendly and meets in our fellowship hall. We have a full band and singers who support our worship music and of course all words are projected so that all can easily participate. We do not embarrass visitors by asking them to stand or pinning badges on them. You are welcome to come and worship at any time to see if our style of worship is helpful and meaningful to you.

What is the community like?
Emmanuel's Church is located at a small crossroad in what used to be mainly farmland. Today, the beautiful views from Valley View Drive and all of Moore Township are beckoning those who want to leave the city sprawl and settle where there is land and trees. Emmanuel's people come from miles around, some with roots that stretch back to 1723 and others that have come quite recently to find a warm and welcoming community that is strong in faith and focused on reaching out to care for others.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Our contemporary services are most seeker-friendly, a place where anyone can come and enjoy the music, listen to the message, and decide if this something worth investigating. Our Pastors are more than willing to meet with anyone who wants to explore the Christian faith. We accept everyone just as they are and try our best to present the Good News of Jesus' love to all that we meet.
