Ebenezer United Methodist Church

I was fortunate to visit the church once in 1994, and unfortunately only once. I am the daughter of Mary Jane (Snyder) Rushia. Born (1925)and raised on the Snyder farm which was directly behind the church. Many of her family I believe are buried in the cemetery next to the church and I believe she was baptized there at about 5 yrs. old. After graduating from high school in Harper's Ferry 1943 she moved to Washington DC to work as a typist at the Pentagon and after WWII eventually making her way to California, Married, lived happily and raised a family and up to the time of this comment, May 2025, is still with us( 99 yrs. old) and living with me in Saint George UT. Of course she'll tell stories of her youth and times on the farm and I so often wished I had a better connection to that history. I remember the beautiful views of the area (1994) and thinking of my family history emanating from the area and of course the church. The church is so representative of an simple era thought so often to be long gone. Thank you and Thank the Lord for maintaining this history. The church and area around appear to remain beautiful, at least by pictures I've been able to see, and what brought this to mind is my grandson visiting friends in PA. I reminded him that it is his history also and he should find that moment to experience it. Not to mention the tremendous history of the overall area in general. I hope he does, I took my daughter, Mary's granddaughter, his mother there,1994. Even though my experience was brief I feel connected, and yet something lost by not knowing it well enough. Love
