About Us

A Holy Spirit led, relational, Biblical, New Testament House Church.

DAYTON SIMPLE CHURCH AT HOME

Tired of doing life alone? Simple Churches are groups of ordinary people who gather each week in homes around the world. Why in homes? It is simple. We enjoy getting together in a safe and informal place with new friends:
• to find hope and experience peace of mind,
• to grow spiritually and explore the Bible's ancient wisdom,
• and to serve our community.
If this resonates, keep reading.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT SIMPLE CHURCHES

What happens during a Simple Church gathering? Three things are experienced:
• eating together
• exploring the Bible's ancient wisdom together
• sharing life together
It is about being real and providing a place for people to grow. It is about belonging. Which means -- there is a place for you.

HISTORY

How did modern church culture shift from house churches to cathedrals and church buildings with professionalized leadership? The Roman Emperor Constantine began institutionalizing Christianity in 321 A.D. Before 321 A.D., between 100 A.D. and 300 A.D., Christianity grew from 25,000 to 20 million people in the Roman Empire where there were no seminaries, settled caretaker pastors, or Christian public places of worship. This is why we read multiple times in the Bible, "This letter is from Paul, … I am also writing to the church that meets in your house. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace." Today, people are going back to a more simple Christianity and taking personal responsibility for their spiritual growth.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Anyone who needs or wants to be a true friend and has an interest in learning more about befriending God is welcome. We tend to be non-denominational in that Christians of all denominations are welcome and those who are not Christians are welcome. Co-leaders have a Seventh-day Adventist background but relate well with all faiths and those not of faith.
