What to Expect

What are services like?
Our Greeters will welcome you. We want you to know we are glad you are here. They will show you where to get coffee, give you relevant information, and show where to check in your children to Kids Connection. Our Nursery and Kids Connection is safe, secure and a lot of fun. We run background checks on every caregiver who works with children. You will check-in at the Kids Check-In table. Babies and toddlers go to the Nursery. School aged kids start the service with all the rest of us and leave to Kids Connection after the music portion of our service. Music will be great! Our band plays variety of styles. Sometimes it’s an acoustic set, sometimes a full band. We play new songs, more seasoned ones, and even throw some hymns in the mix. We want to give everyone an opportunity to worship God through singing on Sunday mornings. Teaching will be Gospel-Centered, practical and relevant to all. Our sermon series’ focus on the Word of God and bringing the Gospel to our lives. We understand that everyone present is at a different part of their faith journey, so our teaching and preaching takes into account the diversity of our listeners.

What is the community like?
We are a diverse group of people from every walk of life seeking to make Jesus known in the Katy area. So come as you are and bring friends and family without worry. We come from many different denominations, beliefs and cultures. You are welcome here no matter where you are on your faith journey.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We welcome people where they are at. If you're curious about God or faith, we'd love to see you on a Sunday morning to chat about life!

I grew up in a small west Texas town called Sweetwater, TX and moved to Houston in 9th grade. Talk about culture shock! Shortly after, I became a Christian while in High School. A typical rebellious youth group kid, I repented of a lot of sin in my life and began to follow Jesus more deeply right before I entered college. I attended Houston Baptist Univeristy and graduated in 2008 with a double major in Christianity and Biblical Languages. I worked at a part-time Youth Minister throughout college and in 2010, I helped plant Creekside Community Church. Growing up in Southwest Houston, I have a love and appreciation for diversity. I always wondered why churches were segregated among ethnic lines. Creekside was a response to that observation. I wanted to be a part of a church that welcomed and celebrated people from all walks of life under the banner of Jesus Christ. I wanted to see a Gospel-Centered, diverse church reaching those far from God in Katy. I have been married to my wonderful wife Sarah since 2008 and we have two daughters, Hayden, 7 and Morgan, 4, who are homeschooled. I love playing guitar (and music in general), watching Netflix with my wife, spending time planning our next Disney World Vacation, and enjoying a good drink with friends and family.
