What are services like?
Services are rich in historic liturgy yet down to earth and engaging for everyone. We are a casual church that take God seriously. Worship is themed around the sermon passage and preaching is from the Bible and we usually go through books of the Bible. We are a friendly church that feels like home for everyone.

What is the community like?
Whether old or young, new to town or native, single or a family you have a home here. We are real people trying to live out a real faith as we do life together.

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you are not a christian, we would love to help you take your faith journey. We believe that whether you know it or not, God has been working in your life and we want to be part of that. Come and join us.

Leadership

Luke Lawson

Pastor Luke Lawson has been the pastor of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 2013. He loves to preach and teach the Bible. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Mississippi State University and his Master of Divinity degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. Pastor Luke married his high school sweetheart, Christine Lawson, in 2008. In 2009, they became the proud parents of Jonathan Lawson and in 2015, the overjoyed parents of Judah Lawson. When you cannot find Luke at home, or in the office, he will be in a coffee shop reading a book or playing board games.
