About Us

Welcome to Christ Lutheran Church, a congregation of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

In 2012, Christ Church celebrated 150 years of ministry in downtown Hazleton, Pa. It is an amalgam of tradition and innovation. We are proud of our preaching, liturgical heritage and fine music program, while at the same time, we are continually seeking ways to identify and support cooperative ministries in our area.

We believe you will find our assembly to be welcoming and hospitable. Please join us for worship, education, projects of service and any and all activities, as we give glory to God and to our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

What to Expect

What are services like?
Services are roughly an hour long, and include traditional prayer along with a unique sermon. The congregation also sings hymns and partakes in Holy Communion.

What is the community like?
The community at CLC Hazleton is a social one. After services, our members often stay in the Gathering Place to catch up with one another over coffee and snacks. We also make an effort to help one another and give back to our communities outside of the church.

What if I'm not a Christian?
CLC Hazleton welcomes all who are interested in exploring their faith, even if you do not consider yourself Christian.
