Who We Are

Christ Lutheran is a Christ Centered caring community that celebrates, nurtures, teaches and equips God's people to live and share the Gospel. The theme of our ministries is "Connecting People To Christ". Our Purpose is to serve people and help then to rejoice, grow and be equipped to server others. As we work together, we can build a solid foundation on a relationship with Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Christ Lutheran Church and Schools have served the Lord in North Orange County since 1962. We look forward to welcoming you, guests and visitors, to our church for a worship service and encourage you to contact us with any questions that you might have. We are committed to living out our faith in the way we worship together, learn together, pray together, fellowship together, and serve together.

Our Services

What are services like?
What are your services like? Worship should be an enjoyable experience that challenges, convicts, and comforts every person who attends. We sing, pray, and listen to God's Word as the Gospel of Christ is proclaimed. What style of sermons are preached? Sunday sermons will challenge and inspire you to realize all that God has done for you through Jesus Christ. The messages will help you apply Biblical principles to every day life situations. What is appropriate to wear to worship? Come as you are! The dress ranges from casual to professional. What type of music can I expect at worship services? Our organists and musicians play a wide variety of music ranging from hymns to praise songs. Our services are a time of celebration and sincere worship, so our music reflects these dynamic differences by using a wide range of organists, musicians, and instrumentalists. What type of a church is Christ Lutheran Church? Christ Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, which is a Bible-centered Christian denomination. Is Childcare Available? Childcare is available for children five years of age and under during the worship services and Sunday morning Bible classes. The Nursery is located down the hallway off the left side of the sanctuary. We encourage you to take advantage of our staffed nursery. Are Our Children welcome for Worship Service? We encourage families to worship together. To assist your child in participating in worship, children's bulletins are available from the ushers as you enter the church. However, we also realize there are times when you need a quiet place to calm your child or tend to their needs. The narthex (lobby area) in the back of the church has TVs and sound so that you can continue to participate in the worship experience. Children under five years of age are also welcome in the nursery. Sunday School is available for children preschool age and up. Where are your restrooms located? Restrooms are located down the hallway off the right side of the sanctuary and off to the left side in the family life center. Childcare amenities are provided. I have need of sight or hearing assistance. Are large print bulletins or hearing devices available?Ask an usher if you need a large print bulletin or a hearing device for worship. Are the worship services recorded and may I borrow a copy of the recording? Worship service DVD's are available for those who are homebound. Please alert the church office or Pastor Bob if you would like to borrow these videos. Sermons are also posted on our church website under the "Media" tab. Where are lost and found items taken? Lost and found articles are brought to the church office. I am interested in becoming a member of Christ Lutheran Church. What is the process for me to do so? New members are received into the congregation 2-4 times a year. If you are a member of another Lutheran congregation who has recently moved to the area, you may request a transfer of membership. Please contact Joy in the church office to get that process started. If you are coming from a different denomination or do not have a church home and are interested in joining Christ Lutheran, a couple of times a year we offer an Adult Information Class. This course teaches basic Christian doctrine from a Lutheran perspective. This class is open to anyone high school aged and older. There is no obligation to join the congregation at the end of the class. Those who wish to join may be received into membership. To receive more information about the next Adult Information Class offering, please leave your name with Joy in the church office so we can contact you as soon as we have a new class scheduled. Childcare is available.

Richard Dannenbring

Christ's Senior Pastor is the Rev. Richard A. Dannenbring. Born and raised in Chester, South Dakota, he came to Christ Lutheran in 1988, having previously served at St. John's in Laona and St. John's in Townsend, Wisconsin and at Trinity in Santa Ana, California. He attended Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota and Concordia Senior College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. His internship was served at St. Luke in Santa Rosa, California. Pastor Dan, as he is affectionately called, graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, in 1973. He and his wife Kara live in La Habra . They enjoy golfing, traveling, Ebaying, and exploring together. Pastor Dan has led the congregation in four building projects with the completion of the Family Life Center. This new facility has enabled the congregation to add a contemporary worship experience at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays. The congregation has expanded to a second site for preschool during his administration and continues to operate on two sites. As part of Christ Lutheran's commitment to mission outreach, the congregation planted a congregation in the Eastvale community. Edgewater Lutheran Church is up and functioning as its own incorporated congregation. The congregation also continues its financial support of Eli Home, UCLA University Chapel, regional mission work, district and synodical mission endeavors. On behalf of Christ Lutheran I want to invite you to come and visit our congregation as we worship the Lord and serve our community that celebrates, nurtures, teaches, and equips for a Christian life, now and forever. This is a place where the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed and God's people leave worship filled with hope and assurance for each day of their lives. [email protected]
