Who We Are

Christ Church was gathered more than 300 years ago to be a parish church to meet the spiritual needs of its parishioners and the community, a tradition that continues today. Originally built in a quiet, pastoral location, Christ Church now is in the heart of the City of Quincy. We know that Christ is present in each person here and celebrate the diversity of the Body of Christ. Wherever You Are on Your Spiritual Journey, God Loves You ~ No Exceptions and Christ Church Welcomes You!

We welcome all who seek God,
We share our love of Christ,
We celebrate Holy transforming and reconciling love
through prayer, worship, sacrament

Our Services

What to Expect

What are services like?
We know that visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating or confusing experience. In order to make your visit to Christ Church as positive as possible in the richly diverse ways in which we worship each Sunday and on special occasions throughout the year. At the heart of all Episcopal worship is the Book of Common Prayer, and within it the principal weekly service is the Holy Eucharist—also known as Holy Communion, the Lord’s Supper or Mass. For each Christian season, the Book of Common Prayer lays out the form that the service should take, and provides the text for most of the prayers.

Leadership

The Reverend Clifford Brown

The Reverend Clifford R. Brown began serving Christ Church in August 2005 as Priest-in-Charge. Over the next five years, he and the parish journeyed together to discern God’s continuing call to the parish on our common mission and ministry. On 16 May 2010, the Reverend Brown was welcomed as the 30th Rector of Christ Church. Our common journey, with God’s help, continues to unfold and take shape. Prior to coming to CCQ, the Reverend Brown served as Urban Assistant Minister at St. Stephen’s Parish, Lynn, MA and as an Intern at the Church of Good Shepherd, Acton, MA. He holds a M.Div. from Andover Newtown Theological School, Newton, MA and a Certificate in Anglican Studies from Bishop Tucker Theological College, Munoko, Uganda.
