What to Expect

What are services like?
Our worship life is centered around the celebration of the Holy Eucharist or Lord’s Supper, which is commonly referred to as the Mass. Services at Christ Church, Harrison are performed according to the Book of Common Prayer of the Episcopal Church with extra devotions representing the Anglican and Catholic tradition. You are welcomed to participate in our services at whatever level you feel comfortable, even if just as an observer.

What is the community like?
Our congregation is small in numbers, but Great in Spirit. We are a welcoming community eager to spread God's love from within our church's walls to the streets of our neighborhoods.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Don't worry about it. We recognize that people are often at different places on their faith journey and we respect those who may have questions about various beliefs or practices.

Erik Soldwedel

Rev. Soldwedel is a cradle Episcopalian in the Diocese of Newark, and was ordained in December, 2007 by Rt. Rev. Mark Beckwith. Deacon Soldwedel has a professional background in business development and mediation and conflict resolution. He has worked with many congregations in the Diocese of Newark facilitating ministry plan development and redevelopment. He served for three years as Deacon of Christ Hospital, Jersey City and remains a Chaplain.
