  • Omari Hill

    Omari Hill
    Assistant Pastor

Omari was raised in The Bronx (aka “the Boogie Down”) and has returned to New York — literally South by Southwest — after 13 years in Texas and North Carolina. After a brief stint at New York University studying Computer Science, Omari was licensed as a Baptist minister at Burke Avenue Baptist Church and moved away to complete a degree in Biblical Studies at The Criswell College in Dallas. After deciding to become a walking enigma (a Black Presbyterian – yes, they exist!), he was graduated by Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte with a Master of Divinity. Omari proudly served as a founding ruling elder with Christ Central Church in Charlotte’s arts district before starting a chapter of Reformed University Fellowship at the UNC at Charlotte from 2009 to 2012. For almost three years, Omari was an associate pastor and community group director at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan (“West Side!!”). When he makes time for chilling out, Omari prefers to enjoy music and lectures, visit museums and parks, play with digital media, and hang out anywhere near or far with his wife.

  • Jeff Newell

    Jeff Newell
    Music Director

Having grown up outside of a small town in Nebraska, Jeff graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and moved to Chicago to study and perform on the local jazz scene. After years of valuable experience in Chicago, an NEA grant to study with jazz master David Liebman eventually drew Jeff to Fort Greene, Brooklyn, in 1994. Jeff was surprised to find that, through a convoluted set of life experiences, God used the move to NYC to lead him back to attending church after a long hiatus. With his musical interests, Jeff soon found himself a part of the music ministry at Brooklyn’s Baptist Temple, where he served as music director from 2000 to 2005. Jeff started attending Resurrection Park Slope in 2005, where he was on the sound team and frequently lead worship for children’s church. The start up of Resurrection Clinton Hill in 2012 was a true answer to prayer for Jeff, providing the opportunity to make a joyful noise and worship God among the people he lives with in his neighborhood. Jeff’s extensive performing career began 1976 and has taken him around the world, from Europe to China, from intimate clubs to symphonic halls and into people’s living rooms through television shows and commercials. He is currently head of the Jazz and Woodwind Departments at the Brooklyn Music School, where he has been on faculty since 1997. Jeff continues to make his home in Fort Greene with his wife, Ruth, and their son, Henry.

  • Laura Galt

    Laura Galt
    Children's Ministry Director

Laura is from a small town in Mississippi and always dreamed of moving to NYC. She met her husband Jamison after college in Austin, TX, where she was working as a campus ministry intern with Reformed University Fellowship. The newlyweds moved to St. Louis a year later to begin seminary degrees at Covenant Theological Seminary. Laura graduated with a M.A. in Theological Studies. Laura is the busy mom of four kids: Adaline, Arthur, Tihun and Solomon.

  • Jamison Galt

    Jamison Galt
    Lead Pastor

Jamison Galt is the founding pastor of Resurrection Clinton Hill. He hails from everywhere, or nowhere––depending on your perspective––having grown up in Florida, California, Washington State, North Carolina, and Texas, in that order. Jamison eventually graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with his degree in English Literature and a focus on creative writing. He received his Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. From 2006 to 2010 Jamison served as an assistant pastor at Resurrection Park Slope, during which time he completed Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan’s church planting Fellows Program under Pastor Timothy Keller and others. Jamison was ordained here in Brooklyn on Pentecost Sunday, 2007. For fun Jamison likes to cook, write, make music, do immersive theater, and bike all over NYC.
