Christ & Holy Trinity Church

About Us

An Episcopal Church in Westport, CT

Christ & Holy Trinity is a strong and vibrant parish of more than 700 active members. Our parishioners come largely from Westport and Weston, but quite a few also come from Fairfield, Norwalk, Bridgeport, Trumbull, Greenwich, New Canaan, and other areas in Fairfield County. With over 30 ministries in which to be involved, and two Sunday and three Wednesday services from which to choose, there is a place for everyone here. Our mission, “Christ & Holy Trinity Church welcomes all persons seeking God’s love; we follow Jesus Christ as faith-filled stewards, through worship and service to others”, indicates not only our desire to be a community that nourishes our own spiritual lives and Christian formation, but also our desire to reach out and serve our community and those in need.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Sunday Service Schedule (September 16, 2012 through May 12, 2013): 8:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite I 9:30 a.m. Family-Friendly Eucharist Babysitting Available, ages infant to 4 years, staffed by 2 professional babysitters, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Weekday Schedule in the Chapel: Wednesday: Holy Eucharist 7:00 a.m. and Holy Eucharist and Service of Healing 12:00 Noon Morning Prayer, Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. (will resume after Labor Day) At Christ & Holy Trinity, we celebrate two services on most Sundays between September 16 and May 12, and the two services have a distinctly different character: 8:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite I - This service is celebrated using the more traditional language and includes an organ prelude and congregational hymns twice a month. On the other Sundays, many who attend this service enjoy the opportunity to spend time in prayer and silence. 9:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite II - This is what we call our “Family- Friendly Service.” Most families with young children choose to attend this service, as it is geared somewhat more to a child-length attention span. The liturgy uses modern language, always includes hymns, and except during the summer includes participation by one of our four choirs. Those in leadership make a point of concluding the service on time, in order to help children get to Church School at 10:30. Children through grade five are invited to process from church into Children's Chapel at the time for the sermon. They return after the sermon for Holy Communion with their families. Childcare for children through age 4 is offered at this service. Children are also always welcome in worship! In fact, our readers for this service are often young people.

What is the community like?
May all visitors feel more than welcome at Christ & Holy Trinity. We warmly greet and help introduce visitors to parish members, church leaders, and any CHT ministry of interest. It is through our consistently heartfelt greeting and hosting that we are known as a truly open and growing community. As we meet one another, we hope to encourage participation and engage people to share their talents and presence with our gracious community.

What if I'm not a Christian?
May all visitors feel more than welcome at Christ & Holy Trinity. Our goal is to offer all who attend one or many worship services a spirited and thoughtful reception.
