About Us
Celo Friends Meeting is an unprogrammed Meeting of the Society of Friends or Quakers. We are members of the Southern Appalachian Yearly Meeting and Association (SAYMA) which is affiliated with Friends General Conference. As an unprogrammed Meeting we have no clergy but select co-clerks to provide administrative leadership. Our worship service is based on meditative silence. Vocal ministry arises when Friends are moved or called to share a message. Friends are historically a Christian denomination but we are open to teachings of leaders from other Faiths.
