Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church is the kind of small town church that actually feels like a community, not just a building you visit on Sunday. Worship is at 10:30 on Sunday mornings, and from the moment you walk in there's someone at the door glad to see you, whether you've been coming for years or it's your first time. Pastor Bob preaches with warmth and real stories, and he isn't afraid to teach the history behind a passage, which the congregation clearly appreciates. The messages are hopeful and practical, the kind you carry into Monday. Music is a mix of familiar hymns and contemporary songs, with regular guest musicians, and there's a children's sermon and Kid Church for the little ones. Communion is an open table, and there's a gluten free option. What stands out most is how much this church does for the town. They host a monthly lunch for unhoused neighbors, quarterly brunches and coffee gatherings for veterans, potlucks, and a presence at Apple Fest. It's an affirming congregation, which is rare around here, and everyone really is welcome. Services are also streamed on Facebook and YouTube if you can't make it in person. If you've been looking for a church home on the Surface Creek side of Delta County, this is one worth checking out.

Robert Anders
Pastor

Pastor Bob has served Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church as its Licensed Local Pastor since February 2024. He came to ministry after a long life of caring for people in other ways, and he brings all of it to the pulpit. Bob has been a registered nurse since 1970. He is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who cared for returning prisoners of war during Operation Homecoming, a former Dean and Professor at the University of Texas at El Paso, and a longtime nursing professor at the University of Hawaiʻi. He still teaches, still writes, and still believes the best sermon is the one you live. His preaching is warm, practical, and rooted in real stories, with a love for the history behind the scriptures. He is the author of "A Shepherd's Words for the Weary: Hope and Peace for the Worn-Out Heart," and he leads a weekly online worship community that reaches believers in Pakistan, Uganda, and India. Bob and his husband, Daniel, live in Pea Green, not far from Cedaredge. He is glad to meet with anyone seeking prayer, spiritual guidance, or simply a conversation, and he would love to see you on a Sunday morning at 10:30.
