Lucy (Lockett) Welch shared their experience Sep 2026
I was baptized here, confirmed here and married here. I sang in the girls choir and later in the adult choir. My dad, George Lockett, taught Sunday school. Mr Rayburn taught the highschool group.
My sisters sang with me. My brother was an acolyte. My dad sang in the choir. My mother was part of the ladies guild that raised money through luncheons and fashion shows. We used the tunnel under the church from Hawkins Hall to the stair way in the narthex of the church on rainy days. We had midnight services on Christmas Eve.
