Calvary Chapel Salt Lake

WHO ARE WE
Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake City has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis of doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the body of Christ. We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
Our theme comes from 1 Corinthians 1.18• "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." Jesus said in John 13:35, All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another."
As a fellowship of believers who are in the process of following Jesus Christ, we want to grow in our love for Him and each other. We realize that this is only possible by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). We also realize that love cannot exist apart from truth. Because of this, Calvary Chapel is built upon the solid teaching of God's Word—the Bible. Our desire is that the Spirit of God might work through the Word of God bringing forth the Love of God in the hearts of men and women.
You are invited to be a part of Calvary Chapel and share our dream with us. Because we are human, we fall short in many ways. But, because we are also children of the King, we have, in Jesus Christ, an eternal storehouse of GRACE, MERCY, PEACE, AND STRENGTH to lift us up and encourage us each day.
