We are a congregation of loving followers of Jesus Christ. Ours is a church which is loving the people of Dumas with the love that reflects our Savior. We enjoy a celebratory style of worship that blends a deep appreciation for the hymns of the faith and an appreciation for the wonderful music that God continues to inspire. We desire to see people of all ages and all backgrounds come to Jesus and to grow deep in a relationship with Him. Through the Southern Baptist Convention we literally have a worldwide missions impact, but also are involved in doing missions, both in our own town, in our own continent, and through international trips. What to Expect

What are services like?
Calvary Baptist Church is known for its friendliness. Guests are always made to feel welcome .Our services are very informal, with music led by a small praise team. We enjoy upbeat music as well as music that draws us into a sense of reverence for the Lord. Many in our congregation are very traditional in their background, but all feel the freedom to express themselves in worship through spontaneously standing, raising their hands in worship, etc. The pastor's sermons are exegetical in nature, that is, the message is taken directly from a single text of Scripture. He usually preaches series, including preaching through books of the Bible. However, each message is self-contained. Attire varies from coat-and-tie to blue jeans.

What is the community like?
Although we tend to be an older congregation, we have a thriving children's ministry. Bible studies and other ministries are offered for every age group.

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you have never received Jesus Christ as Lord, but are simply seeking to know more of Him, you will find a non-threatening atmosphere at Calvary Baptist Church. We believe that receiving Jesus as Lord & Savior is as easy as A, B, C: Admit that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23) Believe on Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31) Confess your that He is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9)
