All Saints Church

About Us

Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh

All Saints Greek Orthodox Church is a Byzantine Rite Eastern Orthodox Christian Church. Practicing the "faith of the Early Church Fathers", we do not consider ourselves a "denomination" of Christianity as we have not separated from the teachings and practices of the early Christian Church. Thus, even though we share with many contemporary Christian Churches the distinction of worshiping God in Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit), we are unique in the fact that we maintain the oldest and most historical form of Trinitarian Christian worship.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Traditional Byzantine-Rite Divine Liturgy. Bi-lingual service. English-to-New Testament Greek ratio 80-20. Choir sings in both Greek and English.

What is the community like?
Majority of the community is retired steel workers. A few immigrant families remain. Community fellowship is close-knit, family-style. Under 200 families.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We can fix that... All visitors are welcome to observe our services. Our church practices a "closed communion", meaning that only those Eastern Orthodox Christians in good standing spiritually with their faith may approach to receive Holy Communion. Remember the scripture that says, "All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God." None of us is perfect. Our Christian goal in this life is to strive to become God-like (Theosis). All are welcome to join us in this journey.
