Our Services

What are services like?
When you come in, you will be warmly greeted and handed a bulletin that gives you an idea of what will take place in the service that day. We conduct services in a casual way and you might expect to hear prayer requests and praises shared and responses given to the pastor's message. We sing some traditional hymns and some guitar-led contemporary worship songs. People are dressed in everything from jeans and t-shirts, to suits and ties, so come as you feel comfortable and know that you won't be out of place! Services last about an hour. During the sermon, one of our volunteers takes younger children just down the hall for children's church, so that parents and children alike can get the most from their church experience.

What is the community like?
We are a small, multigenerational church filled with a diverse group of people--everyone from moms with young children, to parents and grandparents of teenagers, to retirees. Since we are located in the resort town of Lake Placid, NY, we do everything we can to reach out to visitors and locals alike.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We welcome people who are in all phases of their spiritual journeys. Whether you have been in church all your life or this is your first time walking through a church door (or anything in between), our goal is that you will feel comfortable and able to participate in our church at any level you choose. We want this to be a place where you feel welcome and able to ask questions (even the tough ones!). We may not have all the answers, but we know the God who does, and this is a safe place to seek Him.

Leadership

Amanda Cash

Amanda Cash

Pastor Amanda arrived at Adirondack Nazarene in August of 2012. She has been in some form of full-time vocational ministry since the age of 22 (9 years ago now!) and this is her first senior pastorate. She and her husband, Daniel, and two children love living in the Adirondacks and consider it a privilege to serve the people of Lake Placid and the surrounding community.
