Greetings! I am a competitor in the NCFCA Christian Speech and Debate league, and I’m writing to let you know that we will be having a tournament from Jan. 5 - Jan. 7, 2023, at Blinn College - Brenham Campus and ask for your help. My fellow competitors and I would love to have you join us as we work to sharpen our skills to communicate truth with integrity and grace. Would you consider volunteering to judge a round of speech or debate? No experience is necessary! Our league intentionally seeks judges from different backgrounds and walks of life so that competitors like me (ages 12-18) get well-rounded feedback from multiple perspectives.* Please take a moment to view a short video from one of our returning judges about his experience. Judging one round requires a commitment of approximately three-hours. Your experience will include a brief training video, watching and listening to the students assigned to your room, filling out ballots to rank the competitors, and offering any feedback you have. The tournament staff will offer light refreshments and will provide validation of community service hours upon request.
