For over 360 years Abingdon has worshiped God and prayed for the people of Gloucester County. You could say we have a long track record of welcoming new people and sharing God's love with our community. We would like to welcome you, please join us on Sundays for worship.

What are services like?
Episcopalians are "both/and" people. We like sacraments (like the Roman Catholics) and we like Reformed preaching (like Baptists and Presbyterians). You can expect a warm welcome, 4 scripture readings, a 7-12 minute sermon, prayers and Eucharist (bread and wine). At 10:30 the music in our small church is more like a cathedral.
What is the community like?
We are toddlers, teachers, business owners, retirees, teens, nurses, doctors, moms, and dads. Some of us are new to Gloucester while others trace their family roots to Gloucester since colonial days. Our adult class is a place of lively discussion.
What if I'm not a Christian?
We welcome you. We think Christ is the best thing since sliced bread -- well, actually even before then -- and that all of creation is a commercial for God. We would love to hear about the commercials for God that you've seen.
Leadership
Sven vanBaars
Sven's dog thinks he great. The rest of us like him pretty well too. He has been our priest since 2010, but he was a member of the church before he went to seminary.
PS He doesn't care if people mispronounce his name.
