    Zac has been around church worship teams his entire life and is passionate about guiding people into the presence of God through worship. His fiance, Hannah is very involved in our children's ministry and was a huge part of leadership in last years Hallelujah carnival. Zac is currently a senior at GSU, majoring in Business and Hannah is currently a junior at GSU, majoring in Nursing.

    Student Pastor

    Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Jason was born-again as a 16 year old teenager. God radically revolutionized his life and as a result, he immediately knew he was called into ministry. Jason has served in ministry for 22 years as a youth pastor and senior pastor and saw growth in student ministries for 2 different congregations. He believes that people today need a passion for God in a non-religious and Holy Spirit filled setting. He is seeing God doing a great work in today’s generation of youth and college age students. His purpose is to give the life of Jesus to the unbeliever and disconnected believer and see it change their lives forever as he teaches with passion, life and results in the presence of God. Jason attended Elim Bible Institute in Lima, New York and is ordained through Elim Fellowship (elimfellowship.org). He hangs out in Statesboro with his beautiful wife Chelle and three children Joshua, Mikayla and Elijah. He loves the New York Yankees and loves to ride his Buell 1125CR motorcycle!

    Chelle is the Director of KidZone for New Covenant Church! She is happily married to Pastor Jason (see above) and has worked along side of him in ministry for years. Kids play a major role in her life, and God continues to bless her as she ministers to our children, helping them to grow spiritually with a Godly foundation!

    Bessie is a Statesboro local and has been in church her whole life. Her dad is the Music Director at SPBC and her grand father and great uncle are pastors in Forsyth, GA. Bessie is passionate about serving and ministering to people and loves teaching others about God.

  • Brooks and KK Waters
    Care Pastors

    Brooks and KK are founding members of New Covenant Church where they have served faithfully for over 30 years. They are wise in the ways of the Lord and love to love the people. The Waters’ have two grown children and several grandchildren.

  • David McLendon

    Lead Pastor

    David McLendon graduated from GSU in the 80’s, married Elena here at New Covenant, and then moved to Tulsa to earn his Master’s degree from Oral Roberts University. He recently returned to live in Georgia after spending 23 years in ministry in Oklahoma, Texas and Mexico where they lived for 4 years. Pastor McLendon has worked in Christian ministry for over 30 years in a diverse set of environments; from church planting to mega-church staff pastor. His professional roles have included church planter, pastor, overseer of pastors, youth pastor, missionary, professor, conference speaker, author, radio personality and police chaplain. His ministry has led him to preach in over 25 countries. He now lives in Statesboro GA with his lovely wife Elena; they have three children. Pastor McLendon currently serves on the following boards: Iglesia Piedra Angular (since 1995), Choices of the Heart Crisis Pregnancy Center (since 2014), and City of Statesboro Planning Commission (since 2014).
