    Florence Ledyard

    The Reverend Florence L. Ledyard is an Episcopal priest. A graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity, she was ordained to the deaconate in 1978 and the priesthood in 1979. She has served four parishes since then. First as Assistant Rector at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Washington D.C. from 1978 to 1982. Then she moved north to take the position of Associate Rector at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Timonium, Maryland from 1983-1985 and then remained to serve as Rector of the parish from 1985-1996. After a term as Interim Rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Mt. Airy, Maryland, she moved to the city and has been Rector of St Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in West Baltimore since 2002. She has served on the National Hunger Committee of the Episcopal Church as well as on the boards of Interfaith Action for Racial Justice, Episcopal Social Ministries and the Episcopal Housing Corporation in Baltimore. She served two terms on the College of Preachers Board of Trustees including a year as Chair. She was a member of the College’s Associate Faculty - and for a time, held the staff position of Director of Program Initiatives. Presently she has recently completed a stint on the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Maryland and has served as a mentor for Fresh Starts. She is a consultant in the areas of strategic planning and leadership development as well as enjoying opportunities to preach and teach.
