    George Muir

    The Rev. George D. Muir came to Saint Paul’s Church in February 2013 to serve as Interim-Rector. He and his wife Susan moved to Augusta from Richmond, Virginia where George was Interim-Rector of All Saints Church. Born and raised in North Carolina, George is a graduate of The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria, Virginia and received his interim training through the Clergy Leadership Institute. George and Susan have been married for thirty-six years and have three children and one grandchild, all living in North Carolina. Ordained for thirty-two years George began his ministry as Associate Rector of Saint John’s Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina. From there he has served as Rector of Saint Paul’s Church, Beaufort, North Carolina for five years; Grace and Holy Trinity, Richmond, Virginia for twelve years and Grace Church, Hinsdale, Illinois for 10 years. Upon leaving Hinsdale George began an active ministry as an interim serving Trinity Church, Asheville, North Carolina; All Saint’s Church, Richmond, Virginia before coming to Saint Paul’s. George believes that the interim time is that time that the parish gives thanks for its past, and learns from it; accesses its current strengths and gifts; and looks creatively to what its future will be. Being confident in its mission the parish will Guided by the Spirit this is the journey that Saint Paul’s has undertaken.
